How does the Propose Your Art marketplace work?

Artists review collector Opportunities and propose art that matches the criteria.

 

I’m an artist.  How do I propose my art?

First, you'll need to become a member of our artist community.  The application for early access is here.  If accepted, you're eligible to propose your work right away!

I'm an artist.  How do I present my proposal?

To propose your art to a collector, create an Instagram post for the work you want to propose.  Send that post in a DM to the @proposeyourart Instagram account.   Refer to the name of the opportunity you're proposing for,  along with the dimensions of the artwork, and your desired price point.

I’m a collector.  How do I create an Opportunity?

Our team will work with you to build your Opportunity.  Contact us here.  The process is simple and quick.​

 

I’m an artist.  Can I propose my art for every Opportunity?

Artists may propose art for Opportunities at or below tiers that match their historical sales records.

I’m a collector.  Can I return the art?

After a piece is delivered, you have a 48-hour review period to notify us if you would like to return the art.  You are responsible for return shipping.   Once the artist receives the returned piece, your payment is returned.

How does the money work?

When a collector chooses an artwork, she submits 100% of the purchase price to Propose Your Art.  25% of the purchase price is immediately passed through to the artist.  Once the collector confirms receipt of art, and no 48-hour return option is initiated, the remaining 75% payment less a platform fee is delivered to the artist.  Platform fees are waived during Early Access.

I'm an artist.  Can I propose a piece smaller than the Opportunity's max dimensions?

Yes.  If you believe a smaller work, or a combination of multiple smaller works, is the most compelling proposal you can put forward, then feel free to propose it.

I'm an artist.  Can I propose a price below the Opportunity's max budget?

Yes.  If you are eligible to propose art at certain price point, you are also eligible to offer discounts. ​

I'm an artist.  Can I recommend multiple pieces for a single Opportunity? 

We recommend spacing out recommendations.

Who covers the costs of shipping & handling?

The artist is responsible for shipping the art to the collector.  Domestic shipping costs and tracking are included in the sales price.  Incremental differences for international shipping will be covered by the collector.  The collector is responsible for return shipping.

 

How does Propose Your Art make money?

The platform fee per transaction is 15%.  Fees are waived during the early access period.
